“Stewardship is: a spirituality that holds the promise of renewal within the heart of the steward, within the parish and wider Church, and indeed throughout the world; a spirituality that brings us closer to the Lord Jesus, binds us more closely to the Body of Christ, the Church, and empowers us to be effective in our mission of service and evangelization. Stewardship has the power to shape and mold [to transform] our understanding of our lives and the way in which we live.” 1992 U.S Bishops Pastoral Letter-Stewardship: A Disciple's Response
