No matter how much musical experience one has, we all need to be
attentive to building our musical skills on a continuing basis.
To assist in this quest, each choir rehearsal will include some
work on sight reading. This will—over time—make your music
making all the more enjoyable and fulfilling. As a start, be
sure to get thoroughly familiar with the key signatures and
solfege syllables
printed in the Teen Choir Handbook on pages
9-12. You might also want to visit some of the links below. Each
is a great (and fun!) resource for developing your sightreading
muscle.

Enjoyment of
Music - Online Tour...
This fabulous music history site is sponsored by Norton, the
company that publishes the History of Music text that all
college music students use in their first year. It features an
online jukebox where you can listen to examples from the
different periods. There are links to composer information, all
the periods and outside links as well. It also has a very
complete music glossary. Very cool site.
