General Information

Forensics is an extra-curricular program offered to students who enjoy public speaking or for those who are looking to hone their skills in that arena. Students can choose from a variety of categories in which to compete, including: Prose, News Reporting, Moments in History, Group Acting, Demonstration, Storytelling, and more.

The forensics program at St. Dominic School competes at two different levels. Students in 4th – 5th grade choose their pieces in January or February. They practice until their Forensics year culminates in April. They will present before their peers in a Festival format during school hours.

Students in 6th – 8th grades compete through out the Milwaukee area, on various Friday and Saturdays throughout the months of January, February, and March. Points are awarded based on performance, with a high score being 42. Student who meet the criteria for the State Tournament will go on to compete there in mid-March.

Parents, students, and Forensics officers work together to coach, judge, and supervise the students who have joined this program. Volunteerism is a large part of what makes our program viable.
