Archbishop Dolan's Faith in our Future Campaign Homily

St. Dominic will kick-off their campaign in Fall 2008.  Please watch for more information beginning in May.

YOUR FAITHFUL SUPPORT IS MUCH APPRECIATED IN ANTICIPATION: I have really enjoyed serving as the Pastor of this wonderful community of faith for over three years. From my personal observation, I have learned of your great love for your Catholic Faith, rooted in your love for Jesus Christ and the rich tradition that is ours as a faith community rooted in the Word of God, the Sacraments and the legacy of 2000 years of being the Body of Christ in every generation. I sincerely ask for your generous support of the “Faith in Our Future” capital campaign that has been announced by Archbishop Dolan.  By working together throughout the ten counties of southeastern Wisconsin, the parishes united by the Archbishop, can create a stronger Catholic Church for the days ahead. In doing our best and in being blest by the grace of our ever faithful and generous God, we can make remarkable things happen!

St. Dominic Master Plan for Capital Improvements:

The Parish Council commissioned a planning project called Vision 2012 to help guide the St. Dominic faith community in our future development. After receiving feedback from parishioners through surveys and visioning sessions, a dedicated team of parish staff and fellow parishioners created 12 Vision Statements. From these statements, Vision Area Implementation Teams (VAITs) were formed to develop the action steps to help us reach our goals.

This communication is to inform you about the developments in the Building and Grounds Vision Area.

The Building and Grounds Vision Area Implementation Teams spent many hours identifying needs, determining potential projects, and helping to create a Master Plan for the St. Dominic campus. The Parish Council approved the Master Plan in March 2008.  Our hope is that completion of some of these projects can become part of the goal of the upcoming Faith in our Future Capital Campaign (www.faithinourfuture.org). More information and opportunities for discussion will occur as part of the Campaign in the Fall of 2008.

These are exciting times for St. Dominic Parish. As a Catholic faith community we are entrusted to build upo the wonderful history of our parish, to serve God by serving each other, and to offrour gifts to strengthen our community today and for those who will follow in our foot

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Father David Reith, Pastor
Michael Ricci, Parish Council Chairperson
on behalf of St. Dominic Parish Council

Building and Grounds Vision 2012 Statement
Our parish campus will be appealing and inviting, well maintained, and updated to meet the needs of our mission and programs.

A review of the current campus (Church, Parish Center, Rectory, School, and grounds) will determine the long-term maintenance needs of our facilities. The team will gain an understanding of current and anticipated needs for space.

Project teams will develop options that best utilize and enhance current space, investigate any potential major remodeling projects, and analyze potential building projects.

All projects will be evaluated and prioritized based on their costs, available funds, and their ability to enhance the worship experience and faith education of all parishioners as well as attracting new members to our faith community.

PLAN OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this document is to delineate the St. Dominic Master Plan for Capital Improvements (Master Plan). The goal is to identify new buildings and improvements to the existing buildings that would not be considered normal maintenance. General overviews of the projects are listed. The final versions of any of the projects would be determined by building project teams consisting of professionals, lay people, and parish leadership. While this is a living document and subject to modifications and additions, this plan is designed to be the road map we follow as funds become available. Final approval for implementation will be the responsibility of the Parish Council, currently installed at the time, with guidance from the Finance Committee, and in accordance with all Archdiocesan and Parish Policies and Procedures. Regular review of the Master Plan is the responsibility of the Parish Council.

RESEARCH

In 2006, following the parish celebration of its Golden Jubilee, the Parish Council commissioned a
parish planning project called Vision 2012 to develop the principles to guide us into the future. Based on feedback from our parishioners and thanks to the help of dedicated staff members and many
volunteers, 12 Vision Statements and corresponding Action Plans were presented and subsequently
approved by the Parish Council. Additional discussions with parish leaders and parishioners led the Parish Council to create a team to develop recommendations regarding the buildings and grounds needs for our parish.

PARISH BENEFITS

St. Dominic is a vibrant parish today. It is our sacred trust to ensure it will be in the future. The projects
identified in the Master Plan are geared towards enhancing the ministries offered at St. Dominic and that of the greater Church.

Please note, the projects in the Master Plan are not listed in any specific order, nor is there a defined timeline for completion of any particular project.
