2008 Time and Talent Appeal
Online Time and Talent
Commitment Form With a very successful Treasure appeal complete, the Stewardship committee has been working hard on the 2008 Time and Talent Appeal. Materials for this appeal will be sent out to all parish households the week of March 30 (all of these materials are also available below) with the hope that parishioners will return completed Time and Talent Commitment forms by April 13. Included with these materials is a pastoral message from Father Dave stressing the importance of the time and talent of each and every parish member and expressing gratitude for each parishioner's willingness to help out. What is Time and Talent? One of the most significant aspects of biblical faith is the Call to Stewardship. In the Book of Genesis, God places humankind in charge of creation to diligently, energetically and faithfully take care of the many gifts and resources which God, out of divine bounty, has given for our use. Stewardship means an honest look at the gifts God has given to us and then an honest look at our calendars to see how we can share those gifts with others through our Time and Talent. The Stewardship Committee would like to invite you to spend some time considering in what ministry or ministries you would like to be involved. We have each been gifted with such unique talents that we are sure there is a place for you to use your gifts. Your Time and Talent work together to keep our parish alive, healthy and thriving. How Can I Get Involved? The Ministry Service Handbook contains a section for each of the primary Ministry Areas of Saint Dominic Parish. You will find a brief description of each ministry area as well as a list of specific opportunities to serve. Read through these opportunities and consider where you might fit in. The possibilities are many so we are sure there is some opportunity in this booklet that aligns your talents with the time you are capable of giving. Once you make this determination, you can communicate your commitment using the Online Time and Talent Commitment Form, or downloading the Time and Talent Commitment Form and submitting via the collection basket or mailing to: 18255 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI, 53045. This form allows you to indicate what new ministry area you would like to become involved in by placing a checkmark in the appropriate gray box. Please take special note of the areas marked as CRITICAL NEEDS as this is indicative of a volunteer opportunity with which there is currently a significant shortage and/or a notable demand. It is the hope that this booklet will help to clarify and inspire your commitment of time and talent. Your commitment is cherished by the parish more than you will ever know and any consideration you give is sincerely appreciated.
